Small Biz Resource Review: PitneyShip Cube

Small Biz Resource Review: PitneyShip Cube

If you’ve been around for a while, you probably know The Peach Fuzz runs on sugar-free Redbull and one full-time employee. I try to spend as much time as possible on the fun stuff, and as little as possible on calculating shipping logistics and licking stamps. In order to do that I turn to tools and technology to streamline a lot of the manual work.

For years now, I’ve been using PitneyShip software from Pitney Bowes to manage my shipping logistics, which takes away A LOT of admin work. So you can imagine my excitement (albeit very nerdy) when they sent me their newest creation: a WIRELESS scale and shipping label printer in one.

Meet The PitneyShip Cube, an all-in-one Shipping solution.

I’ve had it for a few weeks and I’m already in love. What is it all about? I’m so glad you asked because I really want to share! Here are a few of the features I’m most excited about:

       1. First and foremost it consolidates several tasks into one. After placing a package on the scale it weighs the package, from the app I can scan the package to measure dimensions, and then it prints (and even cuts!!) the appropriate label.

       2. I typically ship with USPS (we <3 the postal service) but they also ship with UPS & FedEx to meet any business’s needs. From my account, I can compare carrier rates and even get discounts.

       3. The PitneyShip Cube's integration with Shopify is where it really has the potential to shine. I can generate shipping labels directly from my open orders, send over the shipping details, and attach the tracking information back to the order. The software is still a little clunky, but I've been working with the team over at PitneyBowes for months as they address all of the feedback I have been giving them on pain points.

       4. Did I mention it uses thermal printing? Aka I don't need to buy ink. ever. again. The future is right now. A win for the forgetful girlies.

      5. It’s small and not ugly. The bar is pretty low for how office supplies look but the PitneyShip Cube is about 7x7x7 inches and has a modern, space-saving design that fits nicely on my desk. It takes up MUCH less space than having a separate spool, and label printer- that’s worth a lot when you consider all the other tools (like glitter and fake frosting) I have on my desk. It’s also completely wireless, I don't need to explain to you why one less cable is a dream come true.

As a small business owner, time is my most valuable asset. The PitneyShip Cube understands this, which is why it was designed to simplify my shipping tasks and optimize my time management. Tools like the PitneyShip Cube are helping me scale with efficiency, accuracy, and transparency that gets the goodies to the hands of my customers as quickly as possible - which at the end of the day is the whole reason I do this.
