If someone doesn’t mention it within a couple minutes I tell them, “I notice you haven’t mentioned my pigeon,” and turn around. Then they ooo and ahhh and I tell them where it’s from.
I made my husband sit through a comparison between The Peach Fuzz clips and ones from big box store. (He did quality control in plastics manufacturing so don’t feel bad for him he’s fine) The quality difference is significant . You can see and feel the stronger spring. peach Fuzz clips have a spring mostly encased so hair doesn’t get caught up in it, cheap clips have exposed springs. Peach Fuzz is made of different colored plastics and the cheap ones are one color plastic with the details printed on, and they scratch off pretty quick. The cheap ones feel like brittle plastic that cracks if you drop it in a gas station bathroom trying to do your hair up after a sink bath on a road trip, while The Peach Fuzz clips have that sorta softer more resilient feel like if you drop one it will bounce instead of smack. My husband started explaining plastic types to me but I zoned out and didn’t catch it all so I can’t explain it here.
As cute as it is in the product photos, the Pigeon Hair Claw -who I’ve named “Pidge” for short- is a stunning and functional piece of art. There’s a beautiful mother-of-pearl shimmer to it that is almost mesmerising. The claw aspect uses the tail portion of Pidge, which is the smallest portion of the clip, so it takes me a moment to work it properly due to some nerve issues i have in my hands, but the design makes it beyond worth it!
